Privacy Policy

iny8 ("we") lets hosts create digital invitations and lets guests view them and RSVP. This notice is given under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
What we collect
- Hosts: names of the couple/family, event dates, venue, map link, photos or music you upload.
- Guests: when you RSVP — your name, attending status, headcount, and optionally phone number and wishes.
- Technical: a hashed (not raw) IP to count invite views, and basic server logs for security.
Why we use it
- To show the invitation and deliver RSVPs to the host who invited you.
- To show the host view counts and the guest list on their private dashboard.
- To keep the service secure and prevent spam.
We do not sell personal data. Guest details are shared only with the host of that invitation. We do not use guest data for advertising.
Local ads
Free invitations show up to 3 small, clearly labelled wedding-related ads. To show local ones, we estimate your approximate city from your IP address on our own server; the IP is used only for that moment and is not stored. A session cookie counts how often you have seen an ad so the same one doesn't keep repeating. City lookup uses IP Geolocation by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0).
Consent
By RSVPing you consent to your details being shared with the host for that event. You can withdraw consent any time by asking us to delete your RSVP.
How long we keep it
Invite and RSVP data is kept while the invite is active and for a limited period after the event, then deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or raise a grievance, using our contact form. We aim to respond within 7 working days.
Children
The service is meant for adults (18+). Hosts should not upload personal data of children without parental consent.
